COVID-19 Update
As New Zealand enters another lockdown period, we thought we’d highlight those activities that we’ve had to postpone and to reaffirm the commitment to reschedule them as soon as we can.
Canterbury and Otago
We had a full schedule of events and meetings in both Christchurch and Dunedin planned for the year; we’re totally committed to continuing with these as soon as we can, but for the moment we are limiting our meetings to virtual sessions as the Bridgewest team are situated in both Auckland and Wellington and the advice is to cancel any flights to leave them for essential travellers only. We’ll re-evaluate over the next 2 weeks, and be in touch with all our partners to rebook as soon as we can.
The West Coast and Nelson
We were really saddened to have had to postpone our West Coast and Nelson trip due to the last Auckland lockdown, and especially since a huge amount of work went into the planning with ChristchurchNZ and EPIC West Coast. We had a packed 4 days on the road from Christchurch to Nelson, and we are now aiming for late March; we hope to have this all confirmed over the next week or so.
Auckland
Our team in Auckland are all well and working from home this week; all of our people are enabled to work remotely and we are 100% cloud based for our data and infrastructure. The disruption to our business is minimal from having to work from home, but our in person events and meetings with innovators and entrepreneurs will need to be virtual. Our office in the CBD is closed this week.
Wellington
Our team in Wellington are less impacted than Auckland, and we continue to work between home sites and our office in the CBD. We are limiting in person meetings, and maintain social distancing when in the office or where we need to meet in person. We have cancelled all travel for the next 2 weeks until the current situation is more clear.
Bridgewest Group
Our US team have been operating between our headquarters in San Diego and personal home/offices for all employees for some time, and this continues. The vaccine rollout in San Diego is well advanced with those over 65, healthcare personnel, caregivers to the elderly and those with disabilities and they adhere to the guidelines issued by the State of California as well as the San Diego County Public officials. As a global business, technology has always played an important part in how we communicate and operate across borders and this continues with daily calls between our NZ businesses and our US management and support teams.
