Academic Spin-outs, Venture Capital Scaling, and Corporate M&A.
From foundational academic research at the lab bench to engineering a major corporate acquisition, Dr. Oliver "Ollie" Hardick has mastered the full lifecycle of life science commercialisation.
An engineer by training, an entrepreneur by heart, and an investor by trade, Ollie founded Puridify, a pioneering biotech tools company built upon his Engineering Doctorate from University College London (UCL). As CEO, he successfully steered the spin-out through complex venture funding rounds, culminating in a highly successful acquisition by GE Healthcare in 2017.
Since that exit, Ollie has operated seamlessly across both the corporate and venture capital ecosystems. He spent years driving business strategy, product launches, and M&A within global giants like GE Healthcare and Danaher Corporation. Today, he fuels the next generation of healthcare innovation as an Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) and Investment Director at M Ventures, as well as an active angel investor. Based in London, his global influence spans ten company boards, including cutting-edge startups like LabGenius, Future Fertility, ImmuneBridge, and Abselion, alongside serving two elected terms on the board of the BioIndustry Association.
Having sat on every side of the table as an academic founder, a scaling CEO, a corporate acquirer, and a venture investor, Ollie possesses a rare, 360-degree perspective on deep tech company building. At Impactful Innovation, he will share his highly practical insights into the true needs of spin-outs and startups, giving founders a clear blueprint to navigate the journey from inception through to global growth and exit.
